 Nouvelles d’automne

Il semble que notre été vient tout juste de commencer, mais hélas, nous sommes déjà rendus à l’entrée scolaire, ce qui veut dire, l’automne. J’ai l’impression, encore une fois, être passé outre la belle saison de l’été. Elle s’est déroulée devant moi à la vitesse d’un éclair. Je jongle entre deux questionnements :

  • est-ce le fait de vieillir?

Ou

  • faire trop d’activités en même temps?

Peut-être un peu des deux. Qui sait?

La première semaine de septembre, je commence à prendre soin de mon «ti-nou» à temps plein pour 7 mois pendant que maman retourne temporairement au travail. Je vais être mammy une deuxième fois!!! Oui, oui, oui, je suis extrêmement contente et j’ai encore beaucoup de place dans mon cœur pour aimer une ou un autre petit ti-pou d’amour. Quelle bénédiction! Enfin, cette joie de prendre «ti-nou» avec moi me demandera de faire de la restructuration dans mon horaire. J’ai déjà commencé à changer des choses sur le blogue comme vous avez sans doute remarqué. J’écris un peu plus espacé. Forcément, je n’ai pas le choix puisqu’il me sera un peu plus difficile avec un enfant de 11 mois! Je vais tout de même essayer, mais nous verrons.

Malgré cela, Mélodie et moi oeuvrons dans l’ombre sur un projet qui sera bientôt dévoilé sur notre page Facebook « L’amitié dans tous ses sens ». Nous avons hâte de vous faire découvrir sur quoi nous travaillons… 🙂

Parmi mes autres activités, j’ai aussi commencé le cours en ligne sur internet « Biblical Womanhood », très intéressant, j’aime vraiment ça. C’est une fois par semaine à raison de 3 heures par soir. Ce cours est donné par « Southwestern Baptist theological seminary », profond et enrichissant dans la Parole.

J’ai quelques critiques de livre à venir, mais je me demande bien comment je vais réussir à tout faire… ouf! Bon, la Grand’Ann va devoir prendre des vitamines sinon elle va manquer de gaz, comme on dit!

Enfin, je découvre de plus en plus la richesse des enseignements des Églises Réformées Baptiste et j’apprends énormément dans mes lectures. Je suis grandement assoiffée et je réalise  mon grand désire pour les Écritures.

Finalement, j’ai lu 1/3 du livre de Jane Eyre et je n’ai même pas pu commencer celui de Jane Austen. J’avais de grandes ambitions, mais ça pas du tout été comme prévu. Je vais y arriver si le temps me le permet, dans les mois d’hiver. Pour l’instant, il y a d’autres lectures plus importantes à lire. J’ai bien des livres qui m’attendent et j’ai des livres que j’ai hâte de lire pour ma vie spirituellement.

Voilà quelques nouvelles de mon côté toujours en sirotant un bon cappuccino pendant que je vous écris.

Fall News

 

I have the impression that summer has just begun, but it’s not so since we already are at the beginning of scholar classes, which means fall is at the door. It seems that once again summer has just rolled before my eyes, yet another season’s gone by at the speed of light. I’m juggling with the fact that I am growing old or taking on too many things at once. Maybe both, who knows?

First week of September, I start full time taking care of ti-nou for 7 months while mommy goes temporarily back to work. Soon, I will be grandma for a second time!!! Yes, yes, yes, I am extremely happy and I still have much love in my heart to give away to a little bundle of joy. What a blessing. As I was saying… taking care of ti-nou will request that I reconstruct my days differently. I have already started changing some things as you’ve most probably noticed on the blog. I write less frequently, I don’t have a choice since it is somewhat more difficult for me with an eleven-month-old baby! I will however try and we will see the results.

Among all this, Mélodie and myself are currently working underground on a project that we will be revealed to you soon on our Facebook page “L’amitié dans tous ses sens”
. We are very excited to let you discover what we have been working hard on… 🙂

Among my many activities, I am also following an online course via web called “Biblical Womanhood”. I love it and I find it very interesting. It is once a week for 3 hours; the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary gives it. Deep and profound biblical teaching by wonderful teachers. A true blessing.

I have a few book reviews coming up, yet I am starting to wonder how I will manage all I have ahead of me… hum? I think Grand’ Ann will need to start taking vitamins soon or she may run out of gas, as we say!

Lately I’ve discovered the richness in the teachings of the Reformed Baptist churches and I am learning tremendously in my readings. I find myself to be thirsty for the truths of God in His Word.

Finally, I have but read only 1/3 of the book from Jane Eyre that I was hopping to read this summer and none of Jane Austen. Big ambitions but, as you can guess, summer went nothing like I had planned. I hope to read some this winter. For now I have other books on my priority list, books on the waiting list, and some I can’t wait to read for my own spiritual life!

Le Voici! – It’s now available!

« L’amitié dans tous ses sens » est disponible!

Me voilà assise tranquille sur ma terrasse avec l’intervenant de l’usager* lors d’une rencontre. Nous jasons du dossier comme d’habitude à notre rencontre mensuelle. Quand tout à coup, un livreur arrive dans la cour extérieure nous rejoindre avec une boîte pour me faire signer… Oh oh oh! Soudainement, je me mets à sauter de joie et je m’exclame au livreur:

« Mais, ce sont nos livres ça! Nous les attendions depuis un bout, comme je suis contente! »

Le livreur sourit à me voir la face. J’imagine que j’ai un sourire fendu jusqu’aux oreilles!!! Et l’intervenant, curieusement, je crois qu’il a senti que notre rencontre était finie… enfin, impossible pour moi de me concentrer, car je n’avais qu’une idée en tête et c’était d’ouvrir la boite avec ma belle fille.

Nous avons reçu les livres le 25 juillet vers 10 h 45 et j’ai appelé Mélodie pour qu’elle vienne avec ti-nou (James) pour que nous puissions ouvrir la boite ensemble puisque c’est notre projet. L’anticipation monte… elle arrive. Gros sourire, soupir et joie!

Quelle excitation d’ouvrir la boite et de voir notre beau livre ensemble! Nous l’avons passé au peigne fin pour vérifier si tout était à notre goût. Pour nous deux, les détails sont très importants, car c’est ce qui fait souvent la différence lorsqu’on achète un produit plutôt qu’un autre. Enfin, il est magnifique et la qualité d’impression nous satisfait énormément.

Il sera à vendre dans les librairies sous peu. Je sais que vous pouvez déjà vous le procurer sur le site de Publications Chrétiennes au Canada et possiblement en France par xl6, un peu plus tard. Présentement, la librairie est fermée du 22 juillet au 4 aout. Il sera annoncé sans doute dans les nouveautés à leur retour!

« L’amitié dans tous ses sens » is now available!

Here I am sitting on my back yard patio, meeting with the community worker who’s in charge of the man* who lives with us. We’re going over his file like we do every month. To my grand surprise, a deliveryman comes into the yard to join us with a box and asks me to sign…Oh oh oh! Suddenly, I find myself jumping up and down with joy, shouting out to the deliveryman:

“These are our books! We have been waiting for them for awhile, oh see how happy I am!”

The deliveryman smiles at me. I imagine that the grin on my face surely displayed my joy!!! Strangely enough, the community worker sort of figured out that our meeting was over…anyway, impossible for me to concentrate, I had only one thing on my mind and that was to OPEN the box with my daughter-in-love.

We received our books on July 25, 2014 at 10h45 and I immediately called Mélodie so she would come over with ti-nou (James) and we would open the box together, since it is a project we worked on together. Anticipation is growing…she arrives. Big smile. Sigh. JOY!

What an excitement it was, opening the box and seeing our book together! Both of us looked it over, verifying every little detail, making sure it all was to our satisfaction. For us details are important, because many times they are the reason why one chooses a certain product rather than another. At last, it is most magnificent and the quality of printing is very much to our satisfaction.

It will be in book stores in a few weeks. You will be able to buy it here if you live in Canada. For those living in France and Africa it will also be available later through this website. For now the store is closed from July 22 to August 4. After that, I believe that the book will be advertised in the « new arrivals » section!

Des nouvelles fraiches!

Les vacances…

Les deux dernières semaines de juillet, ici au Québec, sont ce qu’on appelle les vacances de la construction! Ce qui veut dire que la majorité des Québécois sont en vacances. En somme, si vous voulez aller quelque part faire des visites, vous trouverez qu’il y a beaucoup d’achalandage et vous devrez vous armer de patience. Il y a même des entreprises qui ferment complètement pendant ces deux semaines, genre relié à la construction. De là vient son nom : « Vacances de la construction »! Enfin, nous essayons d’éviter de prendre nos vacances pendant cette période puisque nous aimons plutôt la tranquillité et nous avons cette possibilité avec le travail de mon mari. Nous ne sommes pas en vacances, mais nous avons pris une semaine pour aller en Floride au mois de juin. Pour l’instant, nous n’avons rien en vue pour les autres semaines qui nous reste…

La Lecture…

J’essaie de faire de la lecture de détente, mais pour bien des raisons, ce n’est pas facile. Enfin, je finis parfois par m’éclipser par moment avec un bon cappuccino et un livre dans ma balançoire pour quelques minutes et je ne vois plus le temps passer. Que ça fait du bien! La lecture est source de détente pour moi et je pourrais vraiment lire sans arrêt une journée complète!

Des changements…

Je commence à me préparer mentalement à un gros changement de routine pour l’automne qui consistera à me refaire un horaire complètement. Je serai l’heureuse Grand’Ann qui prendra soin de son ti-nou pendant que sa maman retournera au travail pour un temps. Donc, j’aurai le privilège d’avoir James avec moi tous les jours et me gâter. Il va sans dire que cela sera un ajustement autant pour lui que pour moi, mais nous ferons une bonne équipe, j’en suis certaine.

Lecture de la Parole…

Ces temps-ci, ma lecture quotidienne de la Parole se fait avec crossway. Voici le lien ici. J’ai lu récemment le livre « Woman of the Word », un excellent livre. En passant, je le recommande à toutes les femmes qui veulent apprendre personnellement à étudier mieux la Bible et non seulement pour celles qui enseignent. Crossway a fait une étude d’une durée d’un mois a partir de textes  dans l’Ancien Testament qui est vraiment bien faite. Nous recevons chaque jour par courriel un texte avec le passage à lire. Malheureusement, ce n’est pas traduit et pour l’instant ce n’est qu’en anglais. C’est gratuit et vous n’avez qu’à vous abonner pour le recevoir si vous lisez l’anglais. C’est très encourageant de découvrir l’Ancien Testament à travers les yeux de plusieurs auteurs qui nous aident à découvrir les richesses qui y sont. Cela nous donne le goût de pratiquer ce que l’auteur nous enseigne dans son livre, « Women of the Word ».

Fresh News!

Vacations…

Here in Québec, the last two whole weeks of July are what we call here the “construction vacations”. Thus, making it so that most of all Quebecois are on vacation at the same time! So, if you’re planning on going places and visiting much, you will need to arm yourself with patience because you’ll find that most places are very busy. At the same time, many enterprises such as construction sites are completely closed during these two weeks of construction vacation. That’s where it gets its name from. We try to avoid taking our vacations during this time of year because we prefer to be quiet, and also because my hubby’s work permits him to do that. We are not on vacations, but we did have one week when we went to Orlando in June. For now, nothing on the agenda on the horizon for our remaining weeks of vacation…

Reading…

I’m trying to get some time for leisure reading in, yet it is rather difficult for all sorts of reasons…! Sometimes I finally get the opportunity to escape for a short moment with a good cappuccino and a book, and go hide on my swing where I could just pass the whole day. Reading: such a delight! Reading is a source of relaxation for me and I could just read all day without stopping.

Upcoming changes…

I am preparing myself mentally for big changes in my habits for this fall, that will consist of rearranging my whole routine. Grand’ Ann will gladly be taking care of her ti-nou, James, while his mommy goes back to work for a while. So, I have this privilege of spoiling myself. Goes without saying that both Grand’ Ann and James will need some adjustment, but we make a good team. I am certain things will go well.

Reading of the Word…

These days, my reading of the Bible consists of doing it with a complementary of Crossway. Here is the link. Recently I read a book, “Woman of the Word”, which is excellent. I highly recommend it to all women and not only to those who teach the Word of God, but also to those who want to learn how to study deeper. Crossway has done a wonderful 30 day study of Old Testament passages, from different books, that you can receive by email daily along with a daily encouragement from different writers concerning that specific passage you read. It is really well done and it encourages us to study the Old Testament. It also helps us practice what the author of the book “Women of the Word” suggests. You also get to discover many wonderful authors during the month as you do this.
